Often ignored, but nevertheless important, is the hidden wonder that comes from nature reclaiming its rightful space after it has been impeded by our need for ‘progress’ and to ‘expand’.
Through the gaze of macro photography, Terrarum Exiguum showcases both the beauty and fragility that can be realised when we view ecological succession and human interaction with the natural world via a different perspective.
Utilising a shallow depth of field, I am creating a visual tension and inviting the viewer to consider the importance tiny ecosystems hold in relation to the planet on a larger scale.
Each image is named after it’s What 3 Words location, providing a unique and engaging photography experience where the constant struggle for place, between ourselves and the natural world can be visualised by the viewer in real time.
Moving away from current photographic trends surrounding the Anthropocene.
Terrarum Exiguum is a landscape in miniature.
